I designed this scarf after receiving May’s shipment of Three Irish Girls Stash Menagerie club. I wanted a scarf pattern that would be light enough for summer, and use both yarns, without having to constantly cut and re-join yarns.
In this pattern once you join the second skein, you neither cut, nor rejoin the yarn to create the patchwork pattern. This pattern also has no right side after you bind off. One color is worked in stockinette, the other in reverse stockinette.
Note: When switching colors in this pattern, make sure to twist the two yarns as you would when working intarsia.

Is there somewhere with written instructions, instead of the chart only? I am a senior citizen, and have such a hard time with the chart. Thanks in advance,

I am working on that and I will post the written instructions as soon as I have a chance to proof-read them and make sure that they are correct. They will probably go up sometime tomorrow (the 7th).

Thank you so much, I will be checking back tomorrow.

Nice scarf – and cute model.
But… don’t you have a REAL job to be doing?
-your weird uncle, the Philistine
P.S. Have never seen a “chart” before. Cool – kinda like a microprogram for CPU. It would be readily parsed by a machine.

love it!! thanks.. and love the idea of the way you have no cutting and rejoining

it’s beautiful! Were you able to get written instructions for the chart done yet? I would love to make this and am not good with just relying on charts. thanks sooooo much!

No, she said she would work on it, and post on the 7th, but today is the 20 th and still nothing. I guess maybe she wasn’t able to do them, sorry. I had so hoped to make this for my future daughter in law.

Gloria, I’m so sorry for the delay, but though I did have a version of the instructions ready of the 7th, after looking them over I realized that I had missed the first row and made various other mistakes. I corrected the problems (as far as I know) but now I have someone proof-reading/knitting the pattern so that I can be sure I’m not causing more problems than I’m solving by posting them. They should be done with the first repeat either tomorrow or the next day, but I can’t be sure.
Thanks so much for your patience!

Holly, Thanks so much for the effort that you are putting forth to share the pattern with everyone. I’m sooooo looking forward to getting the pattern. I wish I knew how to read charts, I’ve been knitting for over 30 years, I suppose I shouldn’t be afraid to learn! I want to make this beautiful scarf for my mom for Christmas. I will check back in a few days.
Again, thanks!
